During my volunteering experience with the Apar Foundation in Uganda, I had the opportunity to assist in providing meals to underprivileged children, an experience that was both humbling and deeply rewarding. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the warmth and resilience of the children, despite the circumstances they face daily. Working alongside the foundation’s dedicated team, I helped distribute nutritious meals, witnessing firsthand the impact a simple act of kindness can have on young lives. The smiles and gratitude of the children were profoundly moving, reminding me of the importance of compassion, service, and the collective effort needed to uplift those in need. This experience left a lasting impression on me, reinforcing my commitment to contribute meaningfully to humanitarian causes.
I’m inspired by a deep commitment to accessibility—a value I witnessed firsthand through the work of Shanta Patel, founder of the APAR Foundation. During a solo trip to Uganda, I assisted her in delivering food, books, and clothing to children in remote communities. Watching her bring hope with so little taught me that true impact comes from compassion and persistence. I aim to follow APAR’s example and contribute to communities that uplift others through meaningful service.
I had the absolute pleasure of volunteering with the APAR foundation a number of years back, and it was an eye-opening experience. I was able to see the incredible work they do and be a part of it!
I was involved in the many number of outreach programmes that they host, from food distribution to the less fortunate to health camps, providing healthcare to remote and rural regions of Uganda. I also aided in providing menstrual hygiene education and the distribution of sanitary towels in every area we visited.
I am constantly in awe of the work that the APAR foundation do, it is truly inspiring and I cannot wait for the next opportunity I get to be able to support them in everything they do
